Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act (UAGPPJA)

The Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act was passed in Louisiana (2016) and Mississippi (2014).  The Act creates provisions to facilitate cooperation between courts in different states.  It does this by specifying which court has jurisdiction to appoint a guardian or conservator, specifying a procedure for transferring a guardianship or conservatorship proceedings from one state to another and deals with enforcement of guardianship and protective orders in other states.
